Audi Q7 Type 4L
The first generation was built on the PL71 floorboard, which was also received by the Porsche Cayenne and Volkswagen Touareg. Initially, customers from the United States could only buy gasoline versions and these were 4.2 FSI V8 with 350 hp and 3.6 FSI V6 with 280 hp.
The equipment of the car included, among others, three-zone climate control, an MMI system with a 7-inch display and leather upholstery. In the Premium and Prestige variants, customers could count on an extended version of the multimedia system, a third row of seats and an electric tailgate.
Facelifting
The Audi Q7 underwent a facelift in 2010, which included lighting, bumpers, radiator dummy, new interior trim materials and an improved version of the MMI system. The 4.2 FSI engine in the S Line variant was replaced by a 3.0 TFSI unit with 333 hp. The 3.0 TDI V6 engine, referred to as “clean diesel”, was also offered. It has a maximum power of 225 hp.
In 2013, the Audi Connect connectivity module with Wi-Fi hotspot was introduced and navigation was improved. The appearance of the bumpers and dummy radiator has changed. In the following years, the next generation of the Q7 was already on the road, so Audi did not make any significant changes.
Audi Q7 Type 4M
In 2016, the luxury SUV from Audi was completely redesigned. Among other things, the platform on which the car was built has changed. With the new MLB Evo floor plate, the new Q7 was about 300 kg lighter. At the time of its debut in the US, only the 3.0 TFSI engine version with 333 hp was available.
Travelers can count on more space, and 3 rows of seats are standard in all trim levels. Full LED lighting has also become standard. The base Premium variant also has, among others, a rear-view camera, heated front seats, heated side mirrors and track stabilization control with off-road mode. The list of additional equipment includes, among others, active cruise control and adaptive air suspension.
Facelift 2020
In 2020, the second-generation Audi Q7 underwent a facelift, which included a redesigned front with a new Singleframe grille, narrower headlights and a revised bumper design. New engine versions were introduced — 55 TFSI 3.0 V6 with 335 hp mild hybrid and 45 TFSI 2.0 with 248 hp.
Also presented was the SQ7 version with a 4.2 TFSI V8 engine with 500 hp. The car is equipped, among other things, with adaptive suspension, a system of four turning wheels, a 360-degree camera, a system for monitoring traffic at the intersection and much more.
Facelift 2024
In 2024, the car underwent another facelift, which was presented as a version for the 2025 model year. Changes included the styling of the front, the range of interior trim materials and the multimedia system. The engines were left unchanged, although in Europe Audi showed an efficient plug-in hybrid variety.
