Audi Q3 8U (2015-2018)

Although production of the Audi Q3 began in 2011, the car did not arrive in the US until a few years later. The car is based on the PQ35 platform, which the Volkswagen Golf V and Volkswagen Tiguan also have. In the US, only the Audi Q3 Quattro was offered, while in Europe there is also a front-wheel drive version.

For the 2016 model year, the car underwent a facelift. From the outside, a wider chrome grill frame, new LED DRL lights were added, bumpers and rims were redesigned. In the polyft Audi Q3, the interior has acquired a new 3-spoke steering wheel, better quality materials and new safety systems (blind spot monitoring system and lane departure assistant).

Audi Q3 - technical specifications

In the first generation of the Audi Q3, the engine is a 2.0 TFSI with a capacity of 200 hp. It has a 6-speed Tiptronic transmission. In this Audi Q3, the combustion has been improved along with the facelift. The drive, of course, is only a quattro.

The first generation Audi Q3 was offered in 3 trim levels:

  • Premium - xenon headlights with LED DRL, 18" wheels, leather upholstery, heated front seats with manual adjustment, dual-zone automatic climate control, Audi MMI system with 6.5" screen (non-touch), rear parking sensors, from 2016 rear view camera, electric tailgate, cruise control, emergency braking system;
  • Premium Plus - additionally 19" rims, keyless system, electrically adjustable front seats, Bose audio, blind spot monitoring system (from 2016), panoramic sunroof;
  • Prestige - additionally Audi MMI system with 7" screen, adaptive xenon headlights, Connect system (4G internet, Wi-Fi hotspot), since 2016 lane departure warning system.

Several additional equipment packages were also offered:

  • S Line Package - sports bumpers and sills, 19" S Line rims, sports steering wheel with S logo, aluminum inserts in the interior;
  • Convenience Package - keyless system, automatically tinted rearview mirror, electrically folding side mirrors;
  • Technology Package - MMI Plus navigation, Audi Virtual Cockpit, Bose audio.

Audi Q3 F3 (2019-present)

Currently, the second generation Audi Q3 is on the market. While the first was produced in Spain, this one is produced in Hungary. The car is based on the MQB A1 modular platform, which is lighter than the PQ35. The powertrain in cars offered in the USA is again only Quattro, customers overseas do not have a choice of front-wheel drive options. From 2021, the car can be ordered with an optional adaptive suspension.

So far, the Q3 has not undergone any major facelift, but there have been minor updates along the way. In 2021, a heat pump was added as standard, new 19" rims and the Black Optic Package. In 2024, the engine was changed and the Black Optic Plus package was added.

Audi Q3 - technical specifications

Following the model of its predecessor, the Audi Q3 F3 is offered with only one engine and, in addition, it changed in 2024. On the secondary market you will find the following variants:

  • 2.0 TFSI (40 TFSI) - produced from 2019 to 2024, power 184 hp, the gearbox is an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic;
  • 2.0 TFSI (45 TFSI) - produced from 2025, power 228 hp, the gearbox is again an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic.

Audi Q3 - equipment

The second generation Audi Q3 is sold in only two trim levels:

  • Premium - LED headlights with DRL, turn signal animations, leather upholstery, heated and electrically adjustable front seats, 3-zone climate control, Audi MMI system with 10.1" screen (from 2022 wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), Audi Virtual Cockpit 10.25", Audi Pre Sense Front (automatic emergency braking, pedestrian detection system), adaptive theme, panoramic sunroof, electrically opening and closing tailgate;
  • Premium Plus - additionally, a keyless system, 360 cameras (from 2022), a blind spot monitoring system, a cross-traffic warning system, automatically tinted side mirrors and a rearview mirror, aluminum inserts in the interior of the car.

For the Q3 model, 4 additional equipment packages are offered, but mainly they introduce visual changes:

  • S Line Package - S Line sports bumpers and sills, 19" S Line rims, sports steering wheel with S logo, sports seats with S logo and contrasting stitching;
  • Black Optic Package (from 2021) - black details (grill frame, mirrors, rails), matte 19" wheels, black inserts in the interior;
  • Black Optic Plus (from 2024) - additionally red stitching of the upholstery in the cabin, carbon-look inserts;
  • Technology Package - Audi Virtual Cockpit 12.3", Sonos audio system (from 2022), Audi MMI Plus navigation (for new cars 6 months free, after which it is necessary to purchase a subscription).
