Toyota Land Cruiser 200 Series (J200, 2008-2021)

In the USA, the Toyota Land Cruiser had a classic frame, common, among others, with the Lexus LX 570. The suspension is equipped with the KDSS (Kinetic Dynamic Suspension System), which regulates the vertical movements of the wheels. Therefore, on asphalt, the car drives confidently and stably, and off-road it perfectly copes with difficult obstacles. It also has a permanent 4-wheel drive with a Torsen central differential, a reducer and a 6-speed automatic transmission, and since 2016, 8-speed transmissions have been installed. The Crawl Control system limits speed and acceleration in rough terrain. It is triggered by the driver using a button.

The car went through two lifts. For the 2014 model year, there was a refreshed grill, xenon headlights, a 9" screen, a new dashboard, new wood inserts, improved electronics, the Multi-Terrain Select system. For the 2016 model year, the novelties included LED headlights, grill, 20" wheels (so far they were 18"), Toyota Safety Sense system, 8-speed automatic transmission and improved 4-wheel drive.

In the J200 generation of the Toyota Land Cruiser model, the engine was offered only in one variant - 5.7 V8 with 381 hp. Combustion is approx. 16.8 l per 100 km in the combined cycle.

Land Cruiser Base - has, among others, xenon headlights (from 2016 LED), leather upholstery, ventilated, heated and electrically adjustable front seats, 4-zone automatic climate control, JBL audio (14 speakers), rear view camera, parking sensors, electric sunroof, keyless system, Toyota Safety Sense package (from 2016);
Land Cruiser Heritage Edition (2020-2021) - additionally has 18" wheels with brown trim, black leather upholstery with brown stitching, Yakima MegaWarrior roof rack, no third row of seats.

Additional equipment packages were as follows:

Luxury Package - AVS adaptive suspension, JBL Synthesis audio system, 10.1" monitor for the rear seats;
Terrain Package - Multi-Terrain Select system, Crawl Control system and undercarriage covers.

Toyota Land Cruiser 300 Series (J250, 2024-present)

After a 3-year break, Toyota Land Cruiser returned to the USA. The car has become smaller and more affordable. The earlier disappearance was explained by competition, which even included Toyota's offer, where there were Sequoia and Lexus LX. The generation designated J250 was 200 kg lighter than the J200. The KDSS system was retrofitted as an E-KDSS for the rear axle. Again, a 4-wheel drive with a Torsen mechanism and an 8-speed automatic transmission were used.

Americans can buy the Land Cruiser only in a hybrid version with a 2.4 Turbo internal combustion engine with 326 hp and soft hybrid technology. In this generation of the Toyota Land Cruiser model, the combustion decreased as much as 10.7 l per 100 km in the combined cycle.

The car is offered in 3 trim levels:

Land Cruiser 1958 - has, among others, retro-style LED headlights, heated seats with fabric upholstery, 7" instrument screen, 8" multimedia screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Crawl Control system, automatic climate control, 2400 W AC inverter, trailer brake controller;
Land Cruiser - like Land Cruiser 1958 and additionally 12.3" screen for indicators and 12'3" screen for multimedia, audio system with 10 speakers, front LED fog lamps with the ability to change the lighting color, Multi-Terrain Select, Multi-Terrain Monitor, electrically opening tailgate;
First Edition - limited to 5000 pieces, Premium Package equipment, round LED lamps, First Edition logo on door panels, factory roof rails, sill and wheel arch protectors, engine cover.

Additional equipment packages:

Premium Package (only for the Land Cruiser version) - has, among others, leather upholstery, ventilated and heated front seats with settings memory, JBL audio system (14 speakers), digital rearview mirror, head-up display (HUD), electric sunroof, cooled center compartment;
Cold Weather Package - heated front seats, heated steering wheel, heated side mirrors.

Although the history of the Land Cruiser model in the USA is quite complicated, because, for example, instead of the generation J150 it was sold as the Lexus GX 460. The best idea is to buy newer models, namely the J200 and J250. In the case of the J200 series, there were fewer variants, but for this they are much better equipped. In the USA, only a gasoline engine was offered, and in Europe there was also Diesel and it is the versions with a diesel engine that reigns supreme in our secondary market. Given the increasingly stringent regulations on diesel emission standards and increasing restrictions, it is best to look for a gasoline version in the USA. Thanks to this, you will be able to ride longer without restrictions. The J250 from the USA is only available with a hybrid drive, which is yet to appear in Europe.
