Jeep Grand Cherokee - 1st generation (ZJ)
The first generation of the Grand Cherokee debuted in 1992 and was the successor to the Grand Wagoneer, which car enthusiasts associate primarily with the decorative, wooden door veneers. The car was offered with a 4.0 in-line engine, as well as 5.2 V8 and 5.9 V8. Also on sale was a variant with a 2.5 TD diesel engine.
The top version of the equipment was the Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited, which had, among other things, leather upholstery, heated mirrors, electrically adjustable seats in the front, and even a keyless system and a digital display with a compass. In 1996, seat heating also appeared on the list of equipment.
Jeep Grand Cherokee - 2nd generation (WJ)
Jeep Grand Cherokee of the WJ series, which was produced in 1999-2004, became a symbol of prestige in Poland at the turn of the century, and after many years it is still eagerly used by lovers of off-road expeditions. The list of optional equipment includes, among others, an automatic four-wheel drive - QuadraDrive. An interesting fact is that the Daimler Chrysler concern collaborated with Porsche to strengthen the design of the car. More than 70% of the chassis is made of high-strength steel. This is probably why the Jeep Grand Cherokee WJ is so desirable in the off-road world.

Entering the 21st century marked a lot of changes that were ushered in by the Jeep Grand Cherokee WK. Interestingly, the platform built for this model also served as the base for the construction of the Mercedes GLE W166 and ML.
In 2016, the first facelift was carried out. It consisted in the addition of the Start&Stop system in V6 engines, the introduction of a new gear lever and a new set of gauges. In 2017, further changes were made. This time, the radiator dummy was redesigned and the shape of the headlights was changed.
In this generation, the Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT 8 has reappeared, which has a 6.4 liter V8 Hemi engine. The maximum engine power is 470 hp, which is 50 hp more than that of this variant from the WK series.
However, this is not the strongest version. This title is held by the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk with a 6.2 V8 engine, which is supercharged by a compressor. The maximum power of this car is as much as 707 hp. The top speed is 290 km/h. Acceleration to 100 km/h takes just 3.7 seconds. There is also Launch Control mode, which allows for an atomic start. The interior uses a 7" display instead of traditional gauges, as well as a separate 8.4" display with Trackhawk Performance Pages, where you can monitor the performance of the car. There is also a second display of the same size, which is used for multimedia and is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The car is lowered by 25 mm compared to the SRT-8.
Jeep Grand Cherokee - 5th generation (WL)
In 2021, a new generation of Jeep Grand Cherokee appeared, which has the WL designation. It is also the first Grand Cherokee built after a merger with Fiat. First, a version built on the basis of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio entered the salons, which has a length of 5.2 m and 3 rows of seats. In the same year, a shorter, standard version was added, which has 2 rows of seats. The silhouette of the car is more aggressive than before.
The car has 3 different versions of the four-wheel drive - Quadra-Trac I, Quadra-Trac II and Quadra-Trac II with electrospray. Depending on the version and customer preferences, the center console features an 8.4" or 10.1" screen with Fiat's UConnect 5 system loaded. Added, among other things, support for voice commands, so as not to take your hands off the steering wheel.
The range of drives has been joined by a hybrid with the designation 4xe. It is a plug-in hybrid, so it can be charged at a charging station or from a household electrical outlet. The range is 40 km. The battery is additionally protected against splashes and impacts, so that you can freely use the car in the field. The total power of the drive is 375 hp. The gasoline engine is a 2.0 l turbocharged unit. The car is available in the base version, Anniversary Edition, Trailhawk, Overland, Summit and Summit Reserve. In the latter two, it has, among others, the Quadra-Lift air suspension.
