The company was founded in 1931 and, starting with the 356, ignites the imagination of motorists from all over the world and guests on posters in the rooms of teenagers. In this article we will look at the most interesting models from the modern history of the brand.
German luxury sports cars are famous for their combination of thoughtful solutions, powerful engines, rich equipment and high-quality workmanship. Porsche is no exception. The iconic 911 has been ranked first in reliability rankings for years, not only in its class, but overall as well. Its shape is recognizable already by the contours. The legend of the brand was not hurt even by the fact that it joined the fashion for the production of SUVs. On the contrary, for Porsche, the Cayenne and Macan models made it possible that, thanks to the high profits from their sales, the company has the funds to develop its flagship 911, and it is this model that will play the main violin in our review.
Porsche 911 Turbo - iconic and pioneering
At the time of its launch, the Porsche 911 Turbo was one of the first mass-produced cars to be powered by a turbocharged engine. The BMW 2002 Turbo, presented a year earlier, holds the palm of the priority, but production of the 911 Turbo started faster. The first 911 Turbo had a 260 hp engine that accelerated the car to a hundred in 5.5 seconds. If we combine this with a manual transmission and the absence of any electronic assistance, we get a car that is extreme even in the present day. The car was produced for only 3 years, and during this time only 2850 copies were produced.
In the latest generation of the 922 series, the 3.8 boxer engine is supercharged by two compressors and generates a maximum power of 580 hp in the base version and 650 hp in the Turbo S. Sprint to a hundred takes just 2.7 seconds and the car can accelerate to 330 km/h! All this provides an exciting driving experience.
The car is equipped with an active PASM suspension, a PTM traction management system, ceramic PCCB brakes in the Turbo S and an active rear spoiler that adjusts the downforce based on data from the rest of the electronic systems. In the interior there are noble materials in the form of leather and aluminum. There is also room for modern technology, and the control center is a 10.9” screen with Porsche Communication Management.
How much does a Porsche 911 Turbo cost?
The new Porsche 911 Turbo costs about PLN 1.2 million in the base version and about PLN 1.4 million in the Turbo S version. Cars from the European secondary market maintain high prices, so it is worth bringing Porsche from USA. The prices of used copies in the United States start at the equivalent of about 450 thousand PLN.
Porsche 911 Carrera S - the perfect combination of sport and driving comfort
Although the Porsche Carrera S is a less extreme variant of the 911, this does not mean compromising, because the performance here is more than satisfactory, but the car will perform better in everyday driving. The 3.0 engine of the boxer type has two turbochargers, which allows you to develop a power of 450 hp, and the maximum torque is 530 Nm. Acceleration to a hundred takes 3.5 seconds with the Sport Chrono package. As standard, the car has rear-wheel drive, but it is also available in a four-wheel drive version - Carrera 4S. Buyers also have a choice of automatic or manual transmission.
The extensive list of equipment includes, among others, adaptive suspension, active exhaust flaps, night assistance system, leather upholstery, as well as a head-up display and Bose or Burmeister sound system. The electronics have a WET mode, where the sensors detect the wet surface and then adjust the parameters to ensure maximum stability.

Porsche 911 GT3 - racetrack technology in a road homologated car
For lovers of luxury sports cars, there is probably nothing more exciting than the opportunity to purchase a car that combines advanced technologies from the racetrack with solutions for everyday use. This is the case with the Porsche 911 GT3. Here, a 4.0 naturally aspirated engine works under the hood, which generates a maximum power of 510 hp. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.4 seconds and the top speed is approx. 320 km/h. Optionally, a manual transmission can be ordered. It is worth mentioning that the 911 GT3 is the last Porsche in which the engine of the company Mezger is located. Hans Mezger is an iconic figure and important to the Porsche brand. It is to him that the manufacturer owes its first sporting successes in long-distance racing and the engines installed in McLaren F1 cars.
In the interior of the Porsche 911 GT3 there are bucket seats, and as an option, you can order a safety cage. Even more extreme is the RS version, where the powerful rear spoiler can operate in active mode, and the overall aerodynamics provide more downforce than in the 911 GT3. However, if you prefer something more subdued, Porsche has prepared the 911 GT3 in the Touring version, which has more discreet aerodynamics, a comfortable interior and less attention. This is a proposal for people who want to enjoy racing technology, but not in such an extreme edition as is the case with the 911 GT3 and GT3 RS.

Used copies with European pedigree can cost from about 800 thousand PLN to 1 million PLN. In the case Porsche 911 from USA prices are lower, but GT3 hits rarely, so you have to be patient. Prices range from approx. PLN 600,000 for the latest generation.
Porsche Panamera Turbo S - luxury car with supercar performance
Porsche Panamera is one of the most controversial models of the German manufacturer. This is the first limousine in Porsche's history, which gave the brand's hardcore fans a heart attack, but pleased customers who wanted to combine driving comfort and practicality with the performance and handling familiar from the 911 series. Interestingly, the car was inspired by the 989 prototype shown back in the 1980s. In the second generation, Porsche allowed itself another controversy and introduced offers a body type shooting brake, which was named Panamera Sport Turismo. Thus, the manufacturer attracted those who wanted to have a unique family car, but the BMW M, Audi RS or Mercedes AMG station wagon were too common for them, although they cannot be denied the fact that they are hellishly powerful and richly equipped.
The latest generation of the Panamera model was presented in 2023 and has the designation 972. In the Turbo S variant, the 4.0 V8 engine with two turbochargers went under the hood. This provides maximum power at 630 hp, and the maximum torque is 820 Nm. The car accelerates to a hundred in 3.1 s and has four-wheel drive, so you can feel confident in any conditions. The list of equipment also includes four steering wheels, air suspension, ceramic brakes, leather seats with massage, heating and ventilation, four-zone climate control, Burmeister audio system.
However, this is not the end of curiosities, as Porsche has introduced the Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid model. The 599 hp V8 internal combustion engine was combined with an electric motor, which gave a system power of 782 hp, and the maximum torque is as much as 1000 Nm. The range in electric mode, in the urban cycle is up to 94 km. This Porsche sports sedan combines performance, luxury, ecology and cutting-edge technology. Among them, there is, among others, adaptive cruise control, which adapts, among others, to the topography of the terrain.

Price Porsche Panamera from USA is difficult to estimate, because the car is hardly available in the US secondary market. However, it should be expected that it will traditionally be lower than in Europe.
Why buy Porsche cars?

The legend of the brand makes even moderately neglected copies maintain a high value in the secondary market, although by opting for Importing a car from the USA you can save a little and enjoy the legend at an affordable price. Americans love luxury sports cars, and in addition, cars offered on the local market are often better equipped as standard than European ones.
However, if we leave aside the financial issues, Porsche is doing well, as the manufacturer transfers technologies from motor racing to cars available in dealerships. The brand itself enjoys a very good reputation and although the sight of 911 is not uncommon on Polish roads, it still arouses emotions among everyone you will pass on the street.
Summary
The models we have listed are just a part of a long list of Porsche cars worth taking an interest in. Each variant has something interesting in it, and the phrase “basic version” takes on a completely different meaning here, as evidenced by the equipment and performance of the Carrera variety, which opens the range of the iconic 911 model. However, one should not forget the less iconic, but still excellent models Panamera, Cayenne and Macan, whose sales allow Porsche to continue the legend of the 911 and constantly improve it.
