Mercedes GLK X204 (2008-2015)

The Mercedes Benz GLK debuted in Beijing and is based on the C-class platform of the W204 series. The structure is a steel unibody platform with aluminum elements. The car has a standard suspension with adaptive shock absorbers. In the US, only four-wheel drive was offered, while in Europe rear-wheel drive was also available. The ground clearance is 201 mm, and the wading depth - 300 mm. The silhouette of the car was inspired by the appearance of the G-Class. Unlike the ML model, the Mercedes GLK was produced in Germany.

In 2012, the car underwent a facelift for the 2013 model year. Changes included a more rounded grille, redesigned headlights with integrated LED daytime running lights, redesigned bumpers, new wheel designs. In the interior, a new steering wheel with shift paddles appeared, the center console was redesigned, the Command with a 7" screen instead of 5.8" was used. The new 7 G-Tronic Plus gearbox appeared, the Start/Stop system in the gasoline engine was introduced, a blind spot monitoring system, a lane change assistant and a driver fatigue monitoring system were added. In the GLK 350 model, larger brake discs appeared (340 mm instead of 330 mm in front).

Production of the car ended in 2015 and did not see the next generations. This was due to the fact that Mercedes changed the naming of the models to put them in order. Therefore, the GLK was replaced by the GLC model. The change coincided with the change in the stylistic line of cars of the German manufacturer. However, the GLK is designed in such a way that it looks fresh and dignified all the time, especially in the post-facelift version.

In the Mercedes GLK, the gasoline engine was the leading unit in the USA, but customers could also buy a diesel engine. Performance in the Mercedes GLK, combustion and gearbox changed at the time of the facelift. There were the following options to choose from:

3.5 V6 - power 268 hp (before lifting) or 302 hp (after lifting), gearbox 7 G-Tronic (before lifting) or 7 G-Tronic Plus (after lifting);
2.1 R4 - available from 2013 to 2015, power 200 hp, gearbox 7 G-Tronic Plus, AdBlue.

GLK 350 4MATIC - in the years 2009-2012, including dual-zone automatic air conditioning, electrically adjustable seats upholstered in MB-Tex synthetic leather, heated mirrors, halogen headlights with daytime running lights and sprinklers, cruise control, rear parking sensors, aluminum rails; since 2013 additionally, among others headlights with LED DRL, system Command 7", driver fatigue monitoring system, ambient lighting;
GLK 250 BlueTEC 4MATIC - the same equipment as in the GLK 350 4MATIC.

Additional optional equipment included: keyless system, rear view camera, leather seats with heating function, 20" wheels, panoramic roof.

Premium 1 Package - Command system with navigation, rear view camera, electric tailgate, Harman Kardon Logic7 audio system, panoramic roof, SiriusXM satellite radio, heated front seats, rearview mirror with auto-dimming;
Sport Package - AMG 20" rims, AMG bumpers, AMG sills, grill with a larger Mercedes logo, sports suspension lowered by 15 mm, aluminum pedals;
Appearance Package - 20" wheels (non-AMG), black roof rails, chrome exhaust tips;
Multimedia Package - improved Command with 7" screen, navigation with 3D maps, Linguatronic voice control, rear view camera;
Driver Assistance Package (since 2013) - blind spot monitoring assistant, lane keeping assistant, adaptive cruise control Distronic Plus, active parking assistant;
Lighting Package - xenon headlights with Intelligent Light System, active cornering illumination, headlight washers;
Interior Package - genuine leather upholstery, heated front seats, aluminum or ash wood inserts, ambient lighting after 2013;
Entertainment Package - 2 monitors with a diagonal of 8" for the rear row of seats, wireless headphones, remote control.
