Honda CRV - 4. generation - 2012-2016

The fourth generation of the CRV model was a strong step forward. The car has acquired more streamlined shapes, a heavily accented front, as well as more aggressive and dynamic-looking headlights. The rear lamps have the shape of the letter “L” and retain the stylistic continuity of the model.

The list of standard equipment included, among others, a rear-view camera, a lane keeping assistant, a blind spot monitoring system, as well as dual-zone climate control and heated and electrically adjustable seats. The final list depended on the variant of the Honda CRV model. The technical data has also improved.

Under the hood, a 2.4 VTEC engine with 185 hp and 221 Nm of torque works. In the USA, the car was only available with a 5-speed automatic, in FWD and AWD drive versions. The Real Time AWD system has been optimized to provide better traction in extreme weather conditions. As a result, in the Honda CRV, the combustion was on average 8.7 l per 100 km for the front-wheel drive version and 9.4 l per 100 km in the AWD version.

In 2014, the car underwent a facelift, which was supposed to increase the safety of travelers. The chassis and suspension components have been upgraded to provide even better handling. Increased the size of the main component of the brake assist system to shorten its path.

Honda CRV — 5th generation — 2017-2022

In the fifth generation, Honda again made a significant change in the appearance of the car, and also expanded the engine family in the Honda CRV model. The trunk volume has been significantly improved and amounts to 1100 liters with the rear seats unfolded and 2146 liters with the rear seats folded for the gasoline version and 1025 and 2026 liters for the hybrid version, respectively.

The appearance of the car has become more muscular, which was supposed to emphasize its off-road qualities of the Honda CRV model. The dimensions have been increased to provide more space for those traveling in the back. The cockpit with digital indicators has been modernized and the quality of finishing materials has been improved.

The 5th generation Honda CRV also has the advanced Honda Sensing safety package, which includes adaptive cruise control, collision warning system, automatic braking system and lane keeping assistant. There is also a blind spot monitoring system and a cross-traffic warning system at the rear of the vehicle.

In 2020, the car underwent a facelift, and the most important novelty for the American market was the introduction of a hybrid version, which has a 2.0 internal combustion engine, an e-CVT gearbox and 4-wheel drive. Other changes include a new grill, redesigned headlights, new LED daytime running lights, a front bumper with larger air intakes, a new rear bumper and new wheel designs. Inside, a 7-inch multimedia screen appeared, with support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless charger.

• 1.5 VTEC Turbo - maximum power 190 hp, torque 243 Nm, CTV gearbox, front or 4-wheel drive;
• 2.0 i-MMD - soft hybrid, internal combustion engine 2.0 with 145 hp, electric motor with a capacity equivalent to 184 hp, total system power - 212 hp, e-CVT gearbox, 4-wheel drive.

Honda CRV — 6th generation — from 2023

The sixth generation of the CRV model is another big change. The car has been available in the US since 2023. The appearance of the car has changed again, which is more aggressive and expressive. The car has become massive and has more sharp body lines. The appearance was also followed by technical changes, as the car was lengthened by as much as 25 mm.

The suspension system has been improved for increased comfort and improved stability. The settings of the shock absorbers and steering have been modified.

In the interior, a multimedia screen with a diagonal of 7 inches is installed as standard, and in higher trim levels, Honda mounts a screen with a diagonal of 9 inches. In both cases, it has support for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Leather upholstery is also included in the list of equipment.

The package of safety systems has been modernized, and as part of Honda Sensing, adaptive cruise control with stop & go function has appeared, which supports driving in traffic jams, lane maintenance assistant, collision warning system, parking assistant, improved blind spot monitoring system.

New versions of equipment have been introduced. In the Sport version, the car has darker details, less chrome and a new wheel design. The EX-L and Sport Touring include leather seats, heated front seats, a larger multimedia screen and a high-end audio system, among others.
